What is bloodier than planting a church?

Dever: Re-planting one.

There are even more toes to tread on. More systems that can crush the spark. More structures that can stifle creativity. More objections to new leadership.

But he’s a big fan of re-planting.

Re-planting a dying church takes a lot of sensitivity and careful leadership. But it’s worth it. If the old church was really bad, and the new one is good, it’s a 2-for-1: a bad witness for Jesus is taken down, and a good one is put up.
